Nilufar Depot Presents ‘Repertorio’ at Milan Design Week 2025
For this year’s edition of the fair, the central section of the Depot was dramatically reimagined as “Nilufar: Repertorio”, an ambitious scenographic exhibition curated by the gallery’s legendary founder, Nina Yashar. Divided into five theatrical “acts,” Repertorio unfolds as a multi-sensory exploration of the delicate tensions between craftsmanship and art, past and future, nature and artifice.
Tokujin Yoshioka’s Frozen: Sculptures of Light and Time at Milan Design Week 2025
At Milan Design Week 2025, where innovation often takes centre stage, Tokujin Yoshioka offers something radically different—an experience that slowly disappears. Installed within the courtyard of the historic Palazzo Landriani in the Brera Design District, Frozen is a poetic meditation on the ephemerality of nature. The Japanese artist and designer, known for his visionary use of immaterial elements, presents a collection of sculptural chairs made entirely from frozen water—designed not to last but to melt.
Es Devlin’s Library of Light: A Monument to Memory, Light, and the Imagination at Salone del Mobile 2025
A new installation at this year’s Salone del Mobile promises to become one of Milan Design Week’s most unforgettable experiences. Commissioned for the 2025 edition of the Salone and created in collaboration with the Pinacoteca di Brera, Grande Brera, and with the contribution of Feltrinelli, British artist and designer Es Devlin unveils Library of Light.
Fondazione Prada - ‘Synchro System’,Carsten Höller
Among the most interesting artists on the international scene, beginning in the 1990s Carsten Höller (Brussels, 1961) helped bring artistic production closer to reality, stirring up unusual and surprising reactions in those who view his artworks. Höller’s work is aimed at individuating new possibilities for perceiving existence through a method of rigorous investigation similar to scientific research.
Fondazione Prada - “Useless Bodies?”, Elmgreen & Dragset
Fondazione Prada presents “Useless Bodies?” an exhibition by the artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset in Milan until 22 August 2022. Spanning more than 3,000 square meters and presented across four gallery spaces and the courtyard, the exhibition is one of the most ambitious thematic investigations realized by Fondazione Prada to date.
ENORME Studio X VITAMIN-ARTE: Astral Bodies
ENORME Studio collaborated with VITAMIN-ARTE during the 2019 edition of Milan Design Week showcasing its striking 'Astral Bodies' installation, inspired by the number of meteorites that hit the Earth's surface. Using FINSA Wood's new fibracolour MDF, the studios demonstrate the possibilities of the new material, using it in colourful layers to form the textured surfaces of the 'astral bodies' that reach Earth.
COS X Mamou-Mani: Conifera
Returning to Milan Design Week for its eighth consecutive year, fashion brand COS teamed up with Architect Arthur Mamou-Mani to create its latest instalment 'Conifera', a beautiful installation that flowed through the courtyard and into the gardens of Palazzo Isimbardi, constructed entirely from 3D-printed bioplastic blocks.
Note Design Studio: Formations
Stockholm based Note Design Studio exhibits their latest installation 'Formations' amongst the historic surroundings of Circolo Filologico Milanese during this year's Milan design week.
April Key: Ocean Drive
During the 2019 edition of Milan Design Week, April Key showcased her mesmerising 'Ocean Drive' collection of sculptural lighting designs within the Isola district of the city. The collection is a fusion of Art Deco inspired architecture, lighting and sculpture, taking reference from a series of lost 1950's Kodachrome negatives discovered by Key at a flea market in Istanbul.
