Alcova 2025: former SNIA factory - Design Dialogue in Varedo’s Forgotten Spaces
The ninth edition of Alcova, held from 7–13 April 2025, reaffirms Milan’s position as a city in constant evolution — where design, architecture, and cultural experimentation push beyond conventional boundaries. Spanning four unique sites in Varedo, this year’s edition introduced bold new venues, including the hauntingly beautiful former SNIA factory.

Now a cornerstone of the design calendar, Alcova has, since its founding in 2018 by Valentina Ciuffi and Joseph Grima, redefined how design can be perceived, felt, and experienced. Set apart from the rigid structure of traditional trade fairs; this platform is renowned for occupying raw, disused sites—former factories, abandoned hospitals, and historical villas—injecting new life into spaces long left dormant.
